Join our online communities & lets grow together
You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
Sometimes, what we need isn't another article, another strategy or another thing to do. It's a space to talk things through, hear different perspectives and realise we're not the only ones figuring life out as we go.
HanselCounsel is developing a range of online communities for people navigating the pressures of work, relationships, family life and the counselling profession.
What we want you to have in each meetup
Relaxed paced sessions because life is stressful enough.
Educational conversations and helpful tools to that may be useful in life.
No expectations. Jump in the chat or just sit back with cam off, its all good.
Come as you are, leave a little lighter and know that we’re in this together.
Stress & Burnout Support Community
For people who are tired of running on empty.
Work, family responsibilities and everyday life can leave us feeling stretched thin. Sometimes we keep pushing through because stopping doesn't feel like an option.
This online community is for individuals and professionals who want to better understand stress, recognise the signs of burnout and explore healthier ways of navigating life's demands.
Together, we can explore topics such as:
Recognising stress and burnout before they take over.
Managing mental overload and the pressure to keep performing.
Finding ways to set boundaries without feeling guilty.
Reconnecting with personal values, priorities and what matters outside of work.
Learning practical grounding strategies for everyday life.
The aim isn't to become endlessly productive or resilient enough to tolerate everything. It's to understand what we're experiencing, learn from one another and find more sustainable ways forward.
Who it's for: Individuals and working professionals who are experiencing stress, feeling overwhelmed or looking for a more balanced approach to life and work.
The Men's Fireplace Chat
Conversations about being a man, a husband and a father.
There's plenty of advice about what men should be. Be strong. Provide. Protect. Lead. Keep it together.
But where do men get to talk about what these expectations actually feel like?
The Men's Fireplace Chat is a proposed online space for men to have honest, grounded conversations about masculinity, relationships, fatherhood and the responsibilities that come with adult life.
Think of it as a conversation around a fireplace: no need to have all the answers, impress anyone or pretend everything is fine.
We might talk about:
The pressure to provide and be the dependable one.
Navigating marriage, intimacy and communication.
Becoming a father and adjusting to a different identity.
Balancing career ambitions with family responsibilities.
Managing anger, stress, loneliness and vulnerability.
Figuring out what kind of man, husband and father you want to be.
This isn't about telling men how to live. It's about creating room to reflect, listen and learn from other men who are navigating similar questions.
Who it's for: Men who want a space for thoughtful conversations about relationships, identity, family and the realities of modern manhood.
Group Clinical Supervision for Counsellors
Grow your practice. Reflect on your work. Learn alongside your peers.
Counselling can be meaningful work, but it can also be complex, demanding and isolating. Having a space to reflect on our work with other practitioners can help us develop greater awareness, confidence and professional clarity.
HanselCounsel is exploring online group clinical supervision for counsellors who want to learn collaboratively, reflect on their practice and strengthen their professional development.
Potential areas of focus include:
Reflecting on challenging client work and clinical decision-making.
Exploring therapeutic relationships, boundaries and ethical dilemmas.
Recognising our own responses, assumptions and blind spots.
Sharing perspectives and learning from fellow practitioners.
Building confidence and sustaining ourselves in the counselling profession.
The intention is to create a thoughtful, respectful space where practitioners can learn together without needing to have everything figured out.
Who it's for: Counsellors interested in collaborative clinical reflection, peer learning and professional development.
Group composition, supervision arrangements, professional requirements and suitability will be clarified before any group commences.
Which community interests you?
These communities are currently in the expression-of-interest stage. Registering your interest helps shape future offerings and allows HanselCounsel to contact you when there is more information to share. There is no commitment to participate, and submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee a place.

More info your might want to know
-
You're welcome to bring any case, clinical question, ethical dilemma, or professional challenge you'd like to explore. Supervision is a confidential and supportive space where we can reflect on your work together.
To protect client privacy, please avoid sharing identifying information unless appropriate consent has been obtained or disclosure is otherwise permitted.
-
Clinical supervision is designed to support counsellors at every stage of their professional journey. Whether you're a student, early-career practitioner, or returning to practice, supervision provides a safe environment to build confidence, develop your skills, and grow as a reflective practitioner.
-
While client work is often a focus, supervision can also support your professional development, ethical decision-making, career planning, self-care, and the challenges of working as a counsellor. It's a space to reflect on both your practice and your growth as a professional.
-
Clinical supervision is a collaborative and supportive process, not an examination. The purpose is to encourage reflection, strengthen your clinical practice, and support your professional growth. You're encouraged to bring both successes and challenges without fear of judgement.
-
The frequency of supervision depends on your stage of practice, workplace requirements, and professional goals.
Some counsellors attend supervision monthly as part of their ongoing professional development, while others may benefit from more regular sessions during periods of increased workload, complex client presentations, or career transitions.
-
Supervision is not limited to one specific therapeutic approach.
Rather than focusing solely on a particular modality, supervision aims to strengthen your clinical thinking, ethical decision-making, and reflective practice while respecting your preferred therapeutic orientation and the needs of your clients.
-
Working in the helping professions can be emotionally demanding. Supervision provides a confidential space to reflect on the emotional impact of your work, recognise signs of burnout or compassion fatigue, and develop strategies to support your wellbeing and maintain sustainable practice.
-
While the primary focus of supervision is your clinical practice, it can also be a valuable space to discuss your professional goals, transitioning into private practice, managing boundaries, building confidence, and navigating the challenges that come with running a counselling practice.
